Ricky Evans started Two Tonnes Tasmania in 2013 after studying Oenology, honing his craft at Bay of Fires, and vintages in America, Germany, Italy and England. He now sources fruit from four sites throughout the Tamar Valley and works with growers on the Freycinet Coast and Southern Tasmania.

Evans has two ranges. The Two Tonne and the more accessible Ziggurat range. Classically styled pinot and chardonnay sit alongside more progressive wines that push the whole-bunch boundaries, including a textural, structured orange wine and a riesling with a talcy touch of gewürztraminer. Rick won the Young Gun of Wine People’s Choice award in 2016.
