The Other Right Bright Young Things Red Pet Nat 2023

This vintage is a little deeper thanks to a long and cool growing season. The fruit spent 2 weeks on skins, and 5 months in Slavonian oak then 3 months in stainless, making for a profile that’s all raspberry, cherry, blueberry and bramble fruits. Look out for a lovely chalky edge, some cooling herb and a brisk acidity that’ll have it pairing amazingly well with all your favourite summer feasts.

Dark currants and wild raspberry sweetness is moored with an edge of whole bunch savouriness and spice, woven through long and fine tannins. If you can bear to wait, this will only get better over the next five years.

Crunchy n' taught, this Grenache is overflowing with raspberry coulis and spice, wrapped with a veil of silky tannin, with darts of pomegranate woven through. A modern iteration, coming from 88-year-old vines, with so much ease of drinkability. Nouveau by name, nouveau by nature.

Chaffey Bros Pax Aeterna Nouveau Grenache 2023

This carefully handcrafted wine boasts purity in spades and is overflowing with character and charm. Fruit for this wine came from a unique vineyard overlooking the Goulburn River, sitting on rich alluvial soils in an area that’s home to many retired volcanoes—Dane has told us more than once that the quality of fruit from this spot is incredible! The Syrah is a blend of two separate ferments, which both underwent semi-carbonic maceration with 10 days on skins. In the glass, expect bright and lifted fruit flavours, with intermingling notes of bramble berries, boysenberry, and raspberry coulis. There’s a fresh acidity and energy to the wine that make it perfect for summertime drinking. It’s fantastic as is, but if we were you, we’d chuck this one on ice before drinking.

Un-Grafted #26 Momento Mori Carbo Syrah 2022

When we were offered the chance to work with some beautiful organic Clare Valley Riesling, you can bet we jumped on a plane to SA quick smart. The fruit for this spent just a few hours on skins before being fermented and aged in Jen and Col's very cool, square-yet-squat-pyramid-shaped concrete tanks. The resulting wine is a beautifully aromatic Riesling that holds true to exactly what we were hoping to achieve—completely delicious in all its lime leaf, lemon grass and concentrated citrus glory. Floral, immediate and full of character, both in flavour and structure, and dialled up to the max in refreshment.

A modern and pure Chardonnay serving up everything there is to love about this variety in spades. Pristine notes of grapefruit and lemon citrus and balm. Deftly light-medium-weighted, with a line of pure, clean acidity woven through. Coming from three sites in the Yarra Valley and aged in a mix of French oak barriques, puncheons and foudre for eight to nine months.
