This Adelaide Hills Chardonnay leans into its stone fruit characters, with a touch of new oak, rounded out with grapefruit on the finish. A classy wine, with nice generosity and razor sharp attention to detail. The name (pigeon’s blood) is a reference to the colour of the finest rubies, a nod to Michael’s past life as a jewellery valuer—a tidbit that once you know, becomes apparent in each sip of these refined wines. Excellent bang for buck!

Who is Michael Hall?

Growing up in England, wine maker Michael Hall spent his summer’s holidaying in the French provincial landscape which is where he developed his love for Burgundy & Rhone Valley wines.

Before embarking on his wine making journey, Michael was a jewelry valuer for over 20 years, whilst it was a life of glitz and glamour, he was still yearning to bring his wine dream to reality. After applying for an Australia Study Visa, he soon thereafter graduated Wine Science dux in 2005.

Since then he has worked with the like of Australian wine royalty; Cullen, Giaconda, Henschke, Shaw + Smith & Coldstream Hills to name a few. His wines today are small batch, elegant, made with passive interventions and meticulous attention to detail
