The 2020 vintage was a cool one and with their vineyard being in one of the southern most parts of the country, Paul and Gilli Lipscombe yield was smaller but equally superb.
This is an outstanding Pinot Noir from one of Tasmania's premium artisan wineries. Fresh berries, black pepper, with subtle rhubarb and beet notes, there is a lovely clean and bright acidity that dances on the palate with soft supple tannin.

Who is Sailor Seeks Horse?
Paul and Gilli Lipscombe met in London and in 2005 decided they needed a drastic life change so they articulated a shared dream to make wine. After three vintages in the Languedoc region in France, they’d had the romantic notions stomped out of their dream but couldn’t have been happier. They moved to Margaret River to study winemaking and viticulture – Gilli did the degree and Paul did the post-grad diploma. After four years of collecting as much diverse experience as possible, it was time to take the leap of faith and find a vineyard.
They landed in Tasmania’s Huon Valley and discovered a run down 6 hectare vineyard, planted in 2005 then left to go wild. Half the vines were dead, blackberry above our heads and about one hundred trees littered the vineyard. It was exactly why the set down this path – a lifelong challenge that filled their hearts. Their wines are elegantly pure, classic expressions of Huon Valley wines thanks to a light touch in the cellar.
