Machrie Moor is a reference to an area of Arran Island filled with Bronze Age standing stone that were once used to tether it’s favourite dog (consequently the reason for the label).
There is a lovely balance here of fruity malt and peat. There is a lovely sweetness followed quickly by pepper and a smokey edge before turning minty fresh. It’s balanced and compelling and a lovely alternative to entry level Islay whisky.
