Colour and fruit in abundance for plenty of depth and a lot of super bright squishy berries that are kept savoury with just a pinch of aniseed-like spice. Serve it cool, not cold for the best of times.

David Morgan Quiet Wine Morgan Syrah 2023

A Sauvy B and Chardy blend that sees a short fermentation period and comes through with plenty of texture. The wine to bring when you don’t know the menu, or the vibe because it’s a little cuisine chameleon and great time unto itself.

Fermented half whole bunch for full deliciousness. Love the elevated and floral notes. If you call it Gum, we're going to need it to have a long finish and this delivers with raspberry leaf, olives and a sprinkle of pepper.

Life changing Chardonnay. Flinty with a fine line of citrus-led acidity and tension that keeps going and is so pure. We feel like decanters don’t get enough love when it comes to white wines but most fit perfectly in the fridge door.

Montalto The Elevens Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2023

Texture and a subtle orange glow thanks to just a moment on skins and a partial ferment in amphora. Crack it open when you want flavours that hit clean and luscious; like lemon curd, rockmelon and honeysuckle.

Eck Wines Number 2 Marsanne 2024

Cabernet Franc with a splash of early-picked Chenin Blanc. It’s nice when worlds collide for flavour-filled perfection that’s full of boysenberry and mulberry. This will do perfectly with bites of carne asada and appreciated, humorous points.

Delicious, slightly richer example of the varietal and very much chardonnay adjacent. All ripe fruits, from red apple and nectarine to a basket of stone fruits that all wash down with a dab of almond meal.

Candy apple and a pulse of red currant, or grenadine – either way it’s on the money. This is a boogie wine that you will want to chill, time in the fridge will free up all those fresh raspberry flavours that pour like the juice of a velvet-laced strawberry icy pole.

Soft, supple and svelte with plums and blueberry compote that drip across the palate with ease. If you’ve never had Mencía, this is a brilliant place to start, but be warned, you're starting near the top so replicating the effortless brilliance might be a challenge.
