Who is Lamoresca?
Filippo and Nancy Rizzo spent years spreading the good word of natural wine in the Belgium hospitality scene before they packed up and moved to Sicily. They now produce some of the most compelling and vibrant wines in Sicily. Lamoresca is in the southern most corner of the province of Catania.
The area has a combination of compressed sandstone and iron rich clay which are the home to Nero D’Avola, Grenache and Frappato vines, as well as some very rare Vermentino and Roussanne, all of which are farmed biodynamically.
