Classic as can be Reisling that's easy to drink and even easier to love. Nice and juicy in the glass with lots of citrus blossom, lime leaf, green apple and a lick of toast. Very yum.

One Lovely Day Riesling 2021

When we were offered the chance to work with some beautiful organic Clare Valley Riesling, you can bet we jumped on a plane to SA quick smart. The fruit for this spent just a few hours on skins before being fermented and aged in Jen and Col's very cool, square-yet-squat-pyramid-shaped concrete tanks. The resulting wine is a beautifully aromatic Riesling that holds true to exactly what we were hoping to achieve—completely delicious in all its lime leaf, lemon grass and concentrated citrus glory. Floral, immediate and full of character, both in flavour and structure, and dialled up to the max in refreshment.

Seppeltsfield Watervale Riesling 2023

An elegant nod to German Rieslings grown on the Gullyview site which is 50 years old. You'll get apple and some good florals which give a bigger, sweater profile, but there's also chalk and a very fine and long bone of acid at the core, making for a complete and balanced rizz that has an energetic flutter.

Koerner Gullyview Riesling 2022

A fuller expression of Riesling yet this remains true to the Clare Valley's classic style. Sourced from the 100-year-old Parish vineyard—one of the first three Riesling vineyards in the region—and vinified in a mix of stainless steel and ceramic egg. The result is a wine rich in floral notes sitting beautifully alongside green mango, pear and fennel, with a wash of slate bringing a lean edge to the long finish.

You can drink Mornington Pinot all year round, but for whatever reason it feels even more special in Winter. They have a hint of fleshiness that is almost ephemeral. Take this Allies for instance, it's light but firm, and bright but with tense fruit. There's some nice pomegranate and raspberry. One to contemplate over, and maybe even decant.

The Barry's are onto their third generation of winemakers and this crop is making its mark. The 2022 vintage has all the trappings of a classic and all the phenolics of a wine that speaks to now, and the future. There are white flowers and lemon pith, and a driving acidity to cut it lean. Just delicious.

Clos Clare Riesling 2022

It doesn't get more classic than this—white florals and lemon lime notes, with a spread of citrus juice, baths salts, building makrut lime richness, and a line of powder-coated acidity. Coming from a creme de la creme position in Clare's Sevenhill vineyard and punching well above its price tag.

Naked Run The First Riesling 2021

Winemaker Jeffrey Grosset recounts an idyllic vintage that certainly shines through in the glass, each sip reminiscent of a warm, bright, summer morning. Understated aromas of lime, lemongrass, and white blossom precede crisp, powerful citrus on the palate. It's a tightly structured wine, with mouth-puckering acidity, a great concentration of flavour, and unwavering finesse.

Koerner Brothers in a Box Riesling

Rich stewed lime and herbaceous makrut leaf lead to some tertiary lamp oil and bush honey characteristics. The palate is alive with bright acidity with some nice talcy lees texture to finish. A lovely example of Riesling with a little age.

One of the best things about white wine is that there is literally something for everyone if you look hard enough! Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Fiano, Chardonnay et al - whatever your taste, you’re in for a good time. These are phenomenal expressions of site, bringing oodles of flavour to your palette, and range from light, mineral, and citrusy all the way to textural, oak-laden, buttery cuvées (and all of the iterations in between!).
