Brini is someone we want to soak up every minute with its light pomegranate and early season strawberries and rosy hue. Don’t think it’s all fruit though because there’s a little fanning of peppercorn that comes through to add some oomph, and make it appropriate with light meats and anticipated meetups.

The idea is to let the Grenache grapes do the talking with minimal use of sulphur and no filtration, and what comes through is a real textural delight with vibrant florals, ripe raspberry and a lick of sandalwood and some rhubarb.

I actually like to bring delicious bottles like this to social events and then not share any, you might think that’s a little cold and weird – you’re right btw – but the joy the wine gives me makes me more pleasant to be around, and brings out a certain humour and charm.
