The 2020 vintage offers a more savoury palate than previous vintages, with dusty morello cherries, charred earth, and black pepper spice. It's a little closed upon opening, so be sure to give it a good splash in a decanter before getting stuck in. The tannins are fine and velvety, though will only get better with time in bottle!

Each parcel was fermented slightly individually, with different proportions of whole-bunch and de-stemmed fermentations for each. The end result is incredibly aromatic, with dark red cherry, gentle crushed rock, and a cherry sherbet-like acidity. The tannins are a bit closed and tight, so will reward those who give it some time to unfurl in the decanter (or better yet, the cellar).

A second consecutive warmer vintage on the island led to the fruit being picked earlier again this in 2020. There's a less pronounced oxidative element to the 2020 Benje Blanco, as well as the use of larger format oak barrels which makes the wine more expressive of the volcanic soils it's grown in. High-toned aromatics of sea spray and wood smoke are wrapped around a core of orchard fruit. Textured with a savoury edge and crisp finish.

Incredibly characterful vermouth from Lanzarote, the northernmost island of the Canary Islands. It was made from a base wine of Malvasía Volcánica and Diego, which was grown in craters dug into volcanic ash on the foothills of a system of volcanos - some of which are active. It's drenched in saline, volcanic minerals, along with a herbal, medicinal imprint from the infusion of wild herbs found locally around Lanzarote. (500ml) 15% ABV
